On December 14-15 this year, the Association of Biochemists of Georgia (AGB), supported by the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS) and Ilia State University, organized a two-day practical workshop titled “Journey into the Molecules of Life for Healthy Future” at Telavi Technopark.

The event was attended by high school students from Telavi and nearby areas, including Ikalto, Tsinandali, Nukriani, and Vardisubani. Over the course of two days, they listened to presentations by leading biochemistry experts from Georgia, representing Ilia State University, Tbilisi State University, the Agricultural University, and the I. Beritashvili Center of Experimental Biomedicine.

The association’s president introduced participants to the history and current activities of the Association of Biochemists of Georgia and the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS). A dedicated session focused on the latest trends in biochemistry and biotechnology and opportunities for development in these fields.

Additionally, young researchers conducted practical laboratory sessions on both days, during which students gained hands-on experience working with biochemical equipment and learned methods such as chromatography, spectrophotometry, and protein electrophoresis.

At the end of the workshop, participants were awarded certificates.
