It is the birthday of the great Georgian biochemist – Petre Kometiani

Today, October 16, the Association of Georgian Biochemists and the entire scientific community celebrate the birthday of the great Georgian biochemist Petre Kometiani. Academician Petre Kometian's name is associated with the beginning of human and animal biochemistry in the Soviet Union, as well as with the founding of the school of neurochemists. He compiled and published the first textbook of biochemistry in Georgian language, was the author of many monographs, more than three hundred works in the field of general and special biochemistry, neurochemistry. He was a member of many scientific and public organizations, was elected as a member of the World Society of Neurochemists many times and on the board of the Soviet Society of Biochemists.
